Well, we say ‘hidden’ but when you have received your insurance documents, all is there to be seen, although you may have to go looking for it. So in the event of a claim, it would be too late to say you were not aware if something wasn’t covered as you imagined it was, or the cover was restricted.
We have all heard someone say, I have comprehensive vehicle insurance, so I am fully covered”.
It can be a common misconception that when you buy insurance, your insurer will cover you for all eventualities and fully cover your potential financial loss. In reality, this is not necessarily the case as insurance policies are lengthy and complex documents with many cover terms and conditions, restrictions and exclusions.
So it is important to spend time reading and understanding your insurance documents, including the policy wording, as there may be restrictions on cover, not just any specific terms your insurer may have noted in the policy schedule, and which you were not expecting.
We are here to help you and help you understand your insurance. If at any time you are unsure of anything regarding your insurance policy and the cover it provides, please do not hesitate to speak to us.
